We have recently moved into our newly renovated KEMSI office and studio space in North London. A space which encapsulates a relaxed, serene environment which is often referred to as a ‘home from home’ office. There are multiple aspects of this space that we designed by hand, bespoke pieces that we had made for the living area to allow for an area where you can totally switch off.
People always ask if you have an office in your home, but we always ask, do you have a home in your office? This was the key goal for us at KEMSI, to have an office space that really resembles a home space, somewhere our clients can sit and really understand the elements that will make up their home, somewhere that showcases and encourages creativity.
We hope to create a sense of home for all who visit. From clients to drop-byers and brand partners. Together with our trusted suppliers and manufacturers, we have created a space where you can see the finished product and see the details that bring it all together. We have ABI Interiors products seen throughout our kitchen and bathroom space, planet marble created our bespoke table in the living area and Point 5 is showcased in our kitchen.
The bathroom showcases Porcelanosa’s new X-Tone range, and MDfx Within have added a touch of understated luxury with Lutron’s automatic curtains and smart lighting.
The textures that we incorporated in the elements really capture the feeling of comfort that
we wanted to have within the space, our custom-made sofa really is a testament to this. We struggled to find a sofa which fit into our living area in the way we desired, which lead us to design and source our very own bespoke piece. This is something we often do for our clients as they envision something that cannot be purchased; we work with our team of expert manufacturers to bring this vision to life.
The cushions add the final touch to this space. The fastidious attention to detail of finely woven jacquards and plush épinglé velvets; and the carefully curated colour palette unifies our design. We kept it monochrome with an emphasis on texture and shape - using the finest textiles from Romo Group, Zinc Textile range. - this really helps with the layering and elevating the space.
We really love this studio space as it is a true reflection of our work and our preferred style of décor, it gives our clients a real feel as to what we like and how we curate a space.
