Our work

At KEMSI we believe every interior design project is informed by the way our client’s yearn to feel inside. That’s why every space we create starts with a clear articulation of the feelings our client hopes to experience. It’s this inside/out philosophy, where introspective aspirations dictate physical environments, that sets KEMSI apart, and why our clients consistently tell us we’ve created spaces they can feel perfectly at home in.

Interior design is more than a collection of items and structures selected and constructed to please the eye, it’s about formalising a feeling first, and finding a designer you can trust to bring those feelings to life. It’s about finding KEMSI, where feelings always inform the human experiences we create.

A peaceful family home

Islington Town House

Coming home to a buzzing family can sometimes feel extremely busy.  Our aim was to provide a calm and inviting environment for the family to enjoy.  The stylish North London family didn’t want the house to feel over cluttered. Cleverly thought-out spaces were designed to enjoy and entertain.

La vie en rose, Antibes France

A place to escape

Located on a rugged hilltop without a neighbour in sight, the holiday house once a rose cottage has unobstructed open views of palms overlooking their own private pool.

Our job was to seamlessly connect the outdoor view to create a stunning Modern Mediterranean feel in the middle of the South of France.  A place where the backdrop created timeless memories.

A place to live, work & play

London Modern Victorian Home

This end-of-terrace house in an attractive part of London needed a complete overhaul.  The project needed to be extended and reconfigured to suit todays practical needs, this included a basement dig out and extension.

The house needed to connect throughout with close attention on the flow from the inside out through to the garden. We designed the entire space including the internal layouts, architectural detailing, joinery, lighting, surfaces, kitchen, bathrooms, furniture, and styling. A full turnkey project transforming the way our clients lived.

Highgate House

Cosy luxurious family home

Move or improve? The layout was not working for the family, the kids were disconnected, the house was a mess with little storage and the garden was too small.
To make this beautiful detached 4-bedroom home in Highgate flow better for the family. To provide every person in the house with a functional, well-designed space and to create a place where entertaining can be enjoyed.

Inside outside living

Edwardian Terrace London

This 5-bedroom home was rebuilt from the roof down to the basement.  The aim was to create a home that reflected the people who lived in it.  A large extension was added to lead onto a fully manicured garden, that flowed into the basement for multipurpose living.

The house was in disrepair and needed a complete renovation.  Regardless of the complete overhaul our aim was to save as many original features as possible. Fireplaces were reconditioned, ceiling roses, skirting and Edwardian mouldings were reinstated.

An updated Edwardian family home for modern life.
